**SSASIM: MFBDYN . cal_year**

Identifies calendar year during which the MFB policy parameters specified on this table row are in effect. Calendar years for which no row exists have their parameter values calculated by linear interpolation between the closest prior year and closest subsequent year for which table rows have been specified for this id. Values for years following the last specified year are taken to be equal to values in the last specified year.

**SSASIM: MFBDYN . sp_maxben**

Specifies whether or not a maximum spousal benefit rule is applied to all spousal beneficiaries for the calendar year specified on this table row. False implies there is no maximum, as under current-law policy. True implies spousal benefit is constrained so that the sum of the spousal benefit and the retired-worker benefit (of the other member of the couple) does not exceed a specified fraction (see the MFBDYN.sp_maxbenf parameter below) of the PIA of a steady worker who was born the same year as the retired worker, earned the maximum taxable earnings at ages 22 through 61, and then quit working. In this PIA calculation any excluded taxable earnings are ignored; that is, any excluded earnings are included in taxable earnings for the purpose of this one reform provision. NOTE: the maximum spousal benefit rules are considered as being part of the maximum family benefit rules.

**SSASIM: MFBDYN . sp_maxbenf**

Specifies level of the maximum spousal benefit plus the retired-worker benefit (of the other member of the couple) expressed as a decimal fraction of the PIA of a steady worker who was born the same year as the retired worker, earned the maximum taxable earnings at ages 22 through 61, and then quit working. In this PIA calculation any excluded taxable earnings are ignored; that is, any excluded earnings are included in taxable earnings for the purpose of this one reform provision. Value read from table only for years in which MFBDYN.sp_maxben (see above) is true. NOTE: the maximum spousal benefit rules are considered as being part of the maximum family benefit rules.
